18th Annual Black History Scholarship Essay Contest

It’s time for Black Crow Media’s 18th annual “Black History Scholarship Essay Contest,” presented by Platinum Sponsor Johnson Distributing with Michelob Ultra, now accepting entries through February 28th, 2024.

Study the past to better the future. With that in mind, Black Crow Media and our community partners (see list below) want invest in that future, so we’ve teamed up for this year’s Black History Scholarship Essay Contest.

AGAIN THIS YEAR: Video Submissions will be accepted, in addition to the choice of traditional written submissions. Please see the rules and guidelines for whichever you decide to choose.

Entry for the contest will be open February 1st through 12 am on February 29, 2024. Judging will then be performed by a 3rd party and finalists will be notified on March 11, 2024. Winner placement will be announced at a winners reception on Friday, March 15, 2024.

ESSAY TOPIC:

Who is your generation’s version of Black History in the making? How are they impactful today and what do you think they will do for the world’s future?

Entering is as easy as 1, 2, 3…

1. Download the “Guidelines & Rules” using the button below and read them.
2. Write your essay or create your video
3. Submit your information and essay or video using the “Entry Form” button below. the video should be uploaded to Youtube prior to completing form. (Or, you can turn in a paper copy at the offices of Black Crow Media at 1711 Ellis Drive, Valdosta, Ga 31601 no later than 3 pm, February 29, 2024. Sorry, but video entries are only accepted online.)

**Please do not include your name or image on the essay or in the video itself. If you are turning in a paper copy, you will fill out an entry form at Black Crow Media.**
